John Robert Browne, Age 26
Private, 114992, 9th Company, Machine Gun Corps.
At the present time not a lot is known about John, what we do know is that he was the son of John Rogers & Mary Browne of the Manor house, Dawley Prava, and was killed in action on April 25th 1918. He is remembered on the Tyne Cot memorial (Panel 154 to 159.) and shown below is a cutting out of the cemetery register.

Notes: John's war pension was being paid to his mother Mary Browne living at 6, Water hayes terrace, wigan, in 1919/1920, also his birth place was Wigan, Lancashire.
